WHEN DID YOU REALISE YOU WERE GAY?
The most significant memory that made me realise I was gay is probably when I realised I wanted to be Daphne from Scooby Doo. Mainly because she has style but, also that hunk Fred. Who wouldn’t right?
HOW DO YOU FEEL ABOUT THE TERM ‘GAY BEST FRIEND ’?
I absolutely love it! (Insert sarcasm) When I was younger it didn’t bother me as much but, as I grew older and I came out to more people most of them said something along the lines of ‘OMG I’ve always wanted a GBF!’ As if I was some exotic pet or a cute hat that you’ve seen in the window. I am not your gay best friend. I am not your accessory. My sexuality has nothing to do with our friendship.
WHAT IS THE MOST OFFENSIVE THING SOMEONE HAS SAID TO YOU?
Someone once said that I looked like the butler from Scary Movie 2 (Please search it up). The most offensive thing someone has said regarding my sexuality or gender… there’s so many. Probably when men have shouted out of their car doors ‘Are you a boy or a girl?’ As if it is any of their business.
WHAT’S YOUR GO TO KARAOKE SONG?
Holding out for a hero – Either the Bonnie Tyler version or the fairy godmother from Shrek.
WHAT’S THE BIGGEST MISCONCEPTION ABOUT BEING GAY?
Biggest misconception is either that all gays fit into one stereotype (Let’s go shopping!!) or that you find everyone attractive. Yes, I’m gay. Yes, I like men. No, I do not find you attractive just because you’re a guy.
