Superdrug B. Pure Sensitive Micellar Cleansing Wipes
It was quite a big deal for me to try out a different brand of makeup wipes; I’ve fallen into the habit of always using the same ones from Sainsburys. However, its good to try new things… right? What I liked about these wipes was that they smelt nice! The ones I use tend to smell like well… makeup wipes, but these ones had a nice refreshing scent to them which left my face smelling pretty! On top of this, it really felt as though they cleansed my skin, as well as removing the makeup. One thing I found tough though, was the mascara removal. I really had to scrub to get my mascara off and it left smears under my eyes which made me look like a panda. Maybe this is because I didn’t use any other products and my mascara is tough? However, I haven’t experienced this before. Overall I think I would buy them again, I’d just be wary that they do add a bit of extra time onto my evening routine.
The B. Pure Sensitive Micellar Cleansing Wipes are some of the best wipes to take off makeup and for a general feeling of a clean and refreshed face. When I first used them, I have to admit that I wasn’t sure due to the sticky feeling in my t-zone and the almost overwhelming amount of moisture within the wipe. Though the wipes dry super quickly, they leave your skin feeling soft and refreshed. These wipes are also perfect for makeup removal, even eyeliner which I often find smudges rather than wiping off. These wipes take makeup off quickly and efficiently. They are the perfect go-to cleansing wipes.
Unfortunately, for someone who loves all things skincare and has sensitive skin, I personally won’t be using them again. When using the wipes as recommended I found them to feel scratchy and rough on my skin. My skin also did go slightly red in colour which left me not wanting to reach for them. They did cleanse my face nicely but sadly, the result was too harsh on my delicate skin.
I am very fond of skincare products however wipes were the one item missing from my routine. I don’t wear makeup very often but I find that sometimes, when I am in a rush or out and about, I reach for a wipe if my face is dirty, sweaty or greasy. They’re not a permanent fix but they work. I haven’t tried a whole lot of different brands so I don’t have a lot to compare against the B. Pure Sensitive Micellar Cleansing Wipes but at first, they were some of the softest wipes I’ve tried. Unfortunately, they did become ever so slightly scratchy after not a lot of use; my skin is quite sensitive though. With that being said, they are aimed at those with said sensitive skin so I’m not sure how successful they are in that department. The wipes don’t smell very strongly but the scent is quite unpleasant, having to smell chemicals isn’t very enjoyable, added scents in anything skincare related tend to be harmful more than helpful.
I did test them on makeup and they’re quite good. They probably wouldn’t be the best for very heavy makeup (drag makeup for example) but they work for the everyday look. They don’t immediately remove it but wiping the area a few times with not much pressure was enough for me. You get 25 in the packet and they’re currently priced at £1.49 in Superdrug. Under 6p a wipe is a pretty good price point in my opinion. You could get cheaper but they are unlikely to be as good. To sum up, these wipes are good. They’re not extraordinary, they haven’t changed my life and you could probably find better if you looked hard enough. On the other hand, they clean perfectly fine, including makeup, and aren’t rough or uncomfortable to use. If you see these in a shop and need some wipes, try them out but I wouldn’t go out of my way to pick up this specific brand.
These make-up wipes are absolutely fantastic particularly with anyone that has sensitive skin like myself. If you suffer from allergies then this product is definitely for you. They are not fragranced which means that I didn’t experience any irritation and they are wonderful at removing excess makeup. Waterproof mascara is a nightmare to remove but not for these wipes, they managed it no problem. My skin was left feeling clean, clear and refreshed and my skin feels like it can breathe again.
