I find it really hard to leave the house without a full face of makeup, how do I feel confident without it?

With this question I think it is important to remember that confidence is not going to grow overnight and if you’re someone who is so used to wearing makeup 24/7 then it’s going to take time. It will be really difficult in the beginning to remove all of your makeup, step outdoors and feel completely fine, so I would suggest doing it bit by bit. Maybe go out without lashes one day, or less foundation and lipstick, just make small changes and go from there. I think it’s also important to figure out why you don’t feel as confident without makeup. Realistically, no one is going to notice the change in appearance and if they do who cares? Everyone is beautiful with or without makeup and you should do what you feel most comfortable doing.

I don’t wear makeup often but as a beginner, how do I know what foundation will work best for me?

I find this incredibly relatable as I am currently experiencing the same thing! I’ve never really been into makeup thaaat much but I do still wear it when I go out and stuff. However, over the past year, I’ve gotten into a really strange habit of not wearing any at all; I know that some people would find this a good thing but for me it’s not, and I really want to start making more of an effort with my appearance. Anyway, when I do wear makeup I never wear foundation and I never have so before Christmas I made it my mission to find one. At first I was so so overwhelmed as there are soooooo many out there to choose from. I don’t really know what type of skin I have and I just didn’t know where to start. So, I would suggest simply going into a store and asking – literally, simple as that. Why stress about it when someone is there to do the hard work for you? I’m kind of lucky living in Madrid where I’m surrounded by Sephoras so I just went in and asked someone who knew what they were talking about and they were so so knowledgeable and helpful so I would definitely recommend doing the same thing (they recommended me the Benefit Hello Happy Soft Blur Foundation btw). Other than that if you know your skin type, do some research on different brands, watch some YouTube videos, go off some recommendations and try some different ones out. I know so many places do tester pots nowadays and it’s all about trial and error.
