The Bloom Lounge is a new hot spot situated on Tacket St, Ipswich. Having launched on the 13th December 2019, the number of flower wall images popping up on social suggests that it’s already a hit! As someone who loves a good cocktail, complete with marble effect flooring and pink velvet chairs, I just had to give it a chance. Our staff Christmas party night was perfectly timed and placed so that we were able to pop in on our way into town.
From the outside, the paint is light pink, yet super modern and very different to any other shop front in close proximity. It oozes class and the large untainted windows allow you to see right in. If you’re looking for a venue that will add to your Instagram library, then this is the place. However, if pink isn’t your vibe, then maybe the green sofas will be.
As previously stated, this is an ideal place for cocktails with the girls but the Bloom Lounge also offer a food menu. This includes small plates, sharers, mains, burgers, sides and desserts. We ordered homemade flatbreads which come with a lime and coriander hummus for £6.00 and sesame glazed chicken lollipops, which are essentially mini drumsticks which cost £7.50. We had to wait a little while for the food but considering how busy it was, right before Christmas and also how recently the venue opened, we were happy to wait (especially as we had our delicious cocktails as a starter). The staff who served us and waited our table were very friendly.
The atmosphere was really relaxed. There were tables for big groups and tables for two and you could still hold a conversation above the music. The flowers that consumed the back wall provided the perfect photo opportunity and we definitely took advantage!
I imagine this venue is as good to visit during the day for brunch as well as the evening like we did. I will definitely return and you bet it’ll be tagged on my insta!
