With a new year now officially with us, I thought I would share some of my resolutions that I have for being healthy in 2020.
My physical health has never been 100% due to certain health conditions over the years but that’s something I want to change in 2020.
I’ve never really been the sort of person who diets or exercises regularly but at the same time, I haven’t been overly unhealthy either. I tend to walk to most places due to where I live as I am nearby most places I visit frequently; uni, work, town. However, recently due to recent cold weather and it is getting darker earlier I have been driving to more places. I want to get back to mainly walking to uni, work and town again and only drive when I absolutely have to. At least that way I am making myself healthier by walking and making the planet healthier too by reducing my carbon footprint.
I also want to implement more than just walking into my routine which is why I am going to take up yoga in 2020. Stress plays a huge part in my physical health by making me tired, giving me headaches and reducing my motivation to carry out most tasks. So, as I am approaching one of the most important and stressful periods due to my dissertation, I want to be able to focus on it 100% without letting my stress affect my health. I’ve heard many positive things about yoga and how it helps physically and mentally so I’m looking forward to trying it out and seeing how it goes.
The last aspect I want to be healthier in during 2020 is my diet. I’m not overly unhealthy when it comes to food, but I do like my fizzy drinks. I’m hoping to reduce my fizzy drink intake as I’ve been drinking a lot of it. I’m hoping to go back to juice and either have one fizzy drink a day or try to completely cut it out. I will also try to have one day a week where I don’t have any meat; another way to make me and the planet healthier.
