School work is so important and it is a massive part of our lives but that does not mean it is your life. Just because you are studying hard does not mean you will get good grades, you have to be in the right mind set; not stressed out or deprived of food and sleep because without knowing it, that all has an impact on your grades.

The answer to self care can be simple. I personally like to use a timetable to organise when I study, when I hang out with friends and when I spend some time to myself. Even though I spend most time studying, I do it in small bursts e.g. 30 minutes focused revision then 15 minutes doing something else like go on social media. This helps to keep you focused and not get bored so you can spend longer revising and it also gives you a goal to work towards which is also helpful when revising to make you work harder.

Having some spare time is important, do not feel like it is a waste because you can do something productive like meditation or yoga that helps relax the mind and body so you can stay focused and release stress. I like to listen to music because I find it relaxing, I also like drawing because I find it helps release stress as you can take your time and put everything you’re thinking and feeling onto paper.

I am currently in sixth form so I have quite a few free periods throughout the day which is when I spend time doing my homework so I can spend the time when I get home doing revision. I find this helpful because I do not have to worry about my homework being in on time as I would have done it when I got it and I can also spend time doing extra work on what I struggle on than what is set for me.

Self care is so important, it should be a prioritised responsibility not a choice so always put health first because it affects everything if it is not done.

Be fair and self care.
